Phil Mickelson jinxes Chargers on Monday Night Football

Did the Ryder Cup loss follow Phil Mickelson to MNF? Phil Mickelson was on the halftime show at the “Monday Night Football” game between the Broncos and the Chargers in Phil’s hometown, San Diego. Phil had the chance to win $1 million dollars for a charity organization, First Book, which provides new books to children. All Phil had to do was hit a target 100 yards away.

Phil is a diehard Chargers fan. The Chargers had a Saturday Ryder Cup sized lead at halftime: 24-0. Phil goes on to airmail the target, but still earns First Book $50,000. The Chargers go scoreless in the 2nd half and lose the game 35-24. It was the largest comeback in NFL history for a road team and tied the largest comeback in MNF history. Tough one for Phil and the Chargers.
